I have a pretty large head and have put to use each complete face industrial respirators (was certified) and the disposable sick-patient kind. This mask is a happy medium. I had to wear it for 3 hours straight and it wasn't bad. It didnt get too hot. I knew it was operating and felt protected.
The filters definately worked considering that just after a handful of jobs they were completed. I could see all the junk they saved from my lungs.
I am on right here shopping for replacement filters. I just cannot see there becoming any better option for toxic dust and serious protection, with a balance of comfort. It is rather lightweight.
I recently had a modest amount of vinyl floor tile to take away, and it contained a smaller amount of asbestos. Right after talking with an abatement specialist, I purchased this respirator and a really good heat gun and very carefully removed the tiles. I required to have the windows open and perform under unfavorable air pressure, so it got extremely hot in the location exactly where I was operating (90 degree day in the south). The MSA respirator was comfortable all through the removal. The MSA respirator is simple and easy to adjust, and when you get the straps in spot, the soft rubber surround types nicely to your face for a good comfortable seal. The HEPA filter disks are uncomplicated to replace, and give you confidence in breathing clean air in most environments.
